Location: Dalhousie University,  Date: Friday, March 1st, 2013 Fireside Chat: 1:00–2:00pm Network Break: 2:00–2:30pm Pitch101 Session: 2:30–4:00pm Reception: 4:00–5:00pm Partners: Chamber of Commerce and Invest Atlantic   The Halifax - PITCH101 is one of a series of bridging events throughout Atlantic Canada providing a forum to carry the momentum for young entrepreneurs, students, investors, mentors and service professionals between Invest Atlantic conferences. The event starts off with an hour long inspiring "fireside discussion" between invited guests and the audience on a specific topic carried over from the last conference such as "Access to Capital" followed by a 30 minute networking break. Next, up to fifteen young entrepreneurs will be groomed to pitch for one minute to a panel of experienced pitch-judges and the audience. These pitches are designed to be the first step in helping prepare these entrepreneurs and perhaps those in the audience to develop longer demos and pitches for when they meet real-time investors and potential partners. After each pitch the pitch-judges will provide direct feedback to the pitchers and the audience will be able to vote for their favourite pitch electronically via smart phone technology. All results will be tabulated and announced by a sponsoring accounting firm during the closing reception providing a casual but focused networking finale for all the participants.     Prizes 1st - $500 2nd - $300 3rd - $200 Each winner will also be invited to pitch at Invest Atlantic 2013.   PitchCamp This pitchcamp provides guidelines to first time pitchers including helpful online hints, materials and visuals.
